Kids For Christ is now: Big House Kids Ministry |

Kids, you get a ticket for each of these: bringing yourself, a friend, and your Bible to church on Sundays. Save up those tickets to be able to purchase some exciting new items in the General store.There have been some changes that have taken place in the Children’s Ministry Department at Friends Community Church. The Children’s Pastor, Valerie Porter, and her family, has left to plant a church in Alabama. Sunday, June 28, was their last day with us. A big thanks goes out to Valerie and her family for helping in the program. You will be missed. Even though the Porter Family will no longer be with us, the Children’s ministry will continue to move forward. Angie Long will be taking over the department as the Children’s Ministry Director. Angie is married to Charles Long, who is heading up the Youth Department, Revolution Student Ministries. They have 3 children: Madison, Lexie and Renee. Angie has some exciting things planned for the rest of the year, so be watching for the upcoming Newsletters. Upcoming events for the month of July are...  Family Fun Day
Sunday, July 12, Big House Kids Ministry will be hosting a Family Fun Day. Church will begin at 10:30. This will be double ticket day for the kids to use in the New General Store, which is located in the Kids Church Room. After service, we’ll be having lunch, along with fun games and bounce houses for the kids. Due to the expected heat, we will actually be holding the event indoors. Operation Christmas Child Kids and youth, from Kindergarten through High School, are invited to participate in this year’s wonderful Christmas Program called, “Operation Christmas Child.” There will be speaking parts for those of you who like to act and singing parts for those talented young singers out there. Parents, we are also going to need your help with set design as well. If you would like to know more about this amazing Christmas program, come to the meeting on Sunday, July 26, in the Kids Ministry room, directly after the morning service. This weekend, Friends Community of Church will be hosting the nationally acclaimed music group "Luminate." CONCERT this Sat. night March 21st at Friends ($6) The band will also be leading worship Sun. 10:30 AM, on March 22nd. Come worship with Friends and Luminate, and check out the band on myspace. |
